As a branding agency who manages many Instagram accounts for clients, this update has been a huge positive. Until the update was made, managing multiple Instagram accounts was a daunting task. The folks who go through hashtag feeds and like every photo will now have more carpel tunnel as they do it from multiple accounts instantly. We may all start getting more likes and follows, but not the organic ones we stagram has been successful because of the simplicity and authenticity to connect in an ad-free environment. We first started seeing brands use the channel for mass-influencer outreach. We now have ads, though tastefully presented, show up more and more frequently. Is this the next big move in an effort to turn Instagram into the next banner ad? While the update is super helpful, what’s next? We’ll likely start seeing more and more ads showing up. There’s been a talk of allowing links in the post descriptions. Will we start seeing the same algorithmic frequency applied to ‘Business’ accounts that we’ve gotten accustomed to within the Facebook walls? Time will tell…So far, Instagram has done a solid job of staying genuine and free of over advertising and outbound links. In the end, it comes down to staying true to your brand. At all costs. Don’t get caught up in the fake numbers game. As of this week, Instagram has begun to allow users to switch between multiple accounts using one mobile app. According to social media services Los Angeles, this new feature has been greatly anticipated by the public.
One of its key benefits is it will allow those who use Instagram as a marketing tool to utilize the app to its highest potential. Now bloggers and marketers everywhere can switch between various accounts without having to sign out. The new feature will be unveiled through app version 7. 15 on iOS and Android. Users can use up to 6 total accounts and control them with one single device. Before now, users had to repeatedly sign in and out in order to review their separate accounts. To maintain separate personal and business accounts became a challenge, as users constantly had to keep track of which devise they were on.
Before this innovation, many people resorted to using multiple phones just to manage their various Instagram accounts simultaneously.
The new app is actually quite easy to use.
Visit ‘profile settings’ and ‘add additional account’
The profile setting is the ‘head and shoulders’ icon. The ‘add account’ feature is indicated by the triple dots icon.
At that point, you can simply touch your username on your profile, at the top, and you can switch between the multiple accounts.
At that point, you have multiple accounts and Instagram has added a profile photo throughout the page, so you are always aware of what app you are using.
You can also enter an individual username and password for each individual account you add, similar to the way you sign up for an account the first time. At this point, the new account is now in the app.
To switch between accounts, return to ‘profile’ and select ‘username’. A drop-down of your accounts will appear and simply select the one you want to use.

In this article, we will help you learn the best ways to link accounts and switch between multiple Instagram accounts on your desktop with Shift, and manage all of those accounts effectively.
When Instagram first came to be, it was difficult to navigate on desktop, especially with multi-accounts. It was built with only the mobile app in mind, and Instagram on your laptop was forgotten. Can I have two accounts on Instagram?
You can now have up to 5 IG accounts linked together and logged in at once. If you want to add more than five accounts, you can do so, but you’ll have to log in and out to access additional profiles.
