Modern World of Warcraft, WoW Classic, and Burning Crusade Classic are all installed through the desktop app.
Launch the desktop appClick the World of Warcraft icon at the top. If the icon is missing, click on All Games and select the game from the listOn top of the Install button, confirm which Game Version you want to install: Modern WoW, WoW Classic, or Burning Crusade ClassicClick Install
Each game version must be installed separately. Each game version has different minimum system requirements.

If the app shows the Install button but you have already installed the game before, you don’t have to reinstall. Click on Locate the game below the Install button to select the folder where you installed the game. Once you selected the correct folder, the Install button will become the Play button.

Modern WoW is free to download and play until level 20. If you want to install and play WoW Classic or Burning Crusade Classic, you are required to have game time or a subscription.

Subscription fees are currently a rolling £9. 99 a month, down to £52. 14 or £8. 69 a month if you buy it in six-month chunks.
If you’re a new player who wants to pick up the habit, then you can get the new Complete Collection for £44. 99, which includes one month’s subscription and a boost to top level for one character.

World of Warcraft first came out in 2004, with expansions released roughly every two years since Burning Crusade first extended the world and raised the level cap in January 2007.
Over 100 million World of Warcraft accounts have been created since launch, with the game peaking at 12 million active subscribers in October 2010. shortly before the launch of third expansion Cataclysm.
That number had fallen to just over 5 million by end 2015, the most recent date for which accurate data is available.
It isn’t clear if Battle for Azeroth will eventually be included in the free download package when the inevitable eighth expansion rolls around in 2020, but we’ve asked Blizzard for clarification.
